From The Supervisor

Dear Residents of Ashland,

It has been an amazing three months serving as your Town Supervisor. I appreciate everyone who has reached out with well wishes during this time. My goal is to continue the years of success established by my predecessor, Rich Tompkins. I am incredibly grateful to my team in the town office, the ambulance squad, water and waste treatment, and the highway department for their patience and dedication during this transition.

Our highway department had a demanding start to the year, responding to frequent snowstorms to keep our streets clear. Most recently, they worked closely with Travis at the Wastewater Treatment Plant to resolve a water issue near 12257 State Route 23. Despite several days of difficult excavation, water was restored to all affected residents within two days. Thank you to everyone involved for your hard work.

In February, the ambulance squad took delivery of a new rig to replace an aging vehicle. We are currently getting it road-ready to serve our community and our neighbors in Lexington and Prattsville. Please be on the lookout for the new 71-2! I want to thank our first responders for answering the call every time the tones drop.

Additionally, our team at Town Hall has been doing an exceptional job managing tax collection, bookkeeping, and meeting agendas. Their dedication keeps our operations running smoothly, and I cannot thank them enough, however I will try. Thank you Diane, Heather, Cindy, Dawn and Nancy!

As always, I am here to listen to your concerns. While I am not in the office every day, I am always available via email to schedule a time to talk. My door remains open, and I am committed to being honest and transparent as I work for you.

Thank you for your continued trust.

Best regards,

Chris Hamilton
